How to properly prepare nails
A perfect manicure starts with thorough preparation. Follow these simple steps to ensure your UV Gel Strips adhere properly and last a long time.
What do you need
✦ Silky Lemon | Cuticle Oil
✦ Wooden stick included in every package
✦ Cuticle nipper
✦ 100/180 Feather Nail File
✦ Prep pad wipe included in every package
Let's start the manicure
STEP 01
Soften cuticles
Apply Silky Lemon oil along the edges of the nail and on the cuticles. Gently massage to soften the skin and prepare it for treatment.
STEP 02
Push back cuticles
Use the provided cuticle stick to gently push cuticles down. Be gentle to avoid damaging the nail plate.
STEP 03
Remove excess cuticles
If there are any protruding cuticles or excess skin, carefully trim them using appropriate tools. Be careful not to cut too much: only remove the visibly excess part.
STEP 04
Surface modeling and preparation
File the nail into the desired shape (round, square, almond, etc.) and finally lightly buff the top surface of the nail to remove the thin, shiny layer: this helps the strips adhere.
STEP 05
Degrease and clean the surface
Use the prep pad wipe to clean the nail: this removes grease, filing residue, and oil. Make sure the surface is perfectly dry and degreased before applying the Gel Strip.
